Program Description
This program can be found on the Inventory Reports File Maintenance Listings menu (INV-4-1-9). The function of this program is to print labels for inventory items. You may specify a regular label or a bar code label. Then select the items to be included by product class, item number, or serial number. When specific or all serial numbers are entered, the serial number is printed on the label. Only serial numbers for non-placed items are printed. Custody machines are also printed. There is also the ability to specify the number of labels per item to be printed or labels for every item in the on hand inventory. For non-bar code labels, the size of the label may range from 1 inch to 5 inches in height.

Rev 15 Changes
There was a problem if the operator chose the final Barcode label format (containing Description, List Price, Bin, Item Number). The second digit of the List Price would be missing from the label. This has been corrected.
The Bin Location field is an alphanumeric field and not a numeric field. This means that when a report is ran for a range of bins from 1234 to 5234, bins 15, 212345, and 51433 will also print. Logic was added to this report to look at the bin location numerically instead of alphanumerically. Three questions have been added to this report. The first one is “Is Bin Location A’lphanumeric Field, Or N’umeric Field”. Also, a range of bin locations or ‘CR’ for all was added. If all of the bin locations at your site are numbers, numeric should be chosen. Otherwise, alphanumeric should be chosen. At the range of bin locations prompts, if numeric bins option is chosen, the entry of a letter (other than A for all) will not be allowed. Also, if numeric bins option is chosen and the report encounters a bin with a letter or special character in it, the item will be skipped. If you are unsure if your bin locations are truly numeric or not, choose A for alphanumeric. Depending on what Warehouse the label is being run for, this report will use either the Item File or the Item Warehouse File (ITEMWHD) to determine if the Bin Location is within the range entered by the operator. Screen Example:

An option was also added to sort the labels by Warehouse Number / Bin Location / Item Number instead of by Item Number. The question that was added is: “Sort By W’arehouse/Bin/Item Number Or I’tem Number“. To have it sort the same way that it did prior to Revision 15, choose I for Item Number sort.

The program has internal program code for two types of bar code printers, the Blazer and Eltron. The default has now been changed from Blazer to Eltron, since Eltron bar code printers are more often used. If a Blazer is used to print labels, the default can be set to Blazer by an LMS Support technician.
Also, networking printing capabilities were added for bar code inventory labels.
If there are no labels to print, the message There Are No Labels To Print Right Now will print out on the labels.
Also, a new format option has been added to Bar Code labels. Option 4 will print Item Description, List Price, Bin, and Item Number.
