Placed Machine ASCII Download is a new program in Rev 15 that allows you to download all placed machines into an ASCII Tab-Delimited file. This can be found in 17 System Manager> 1 System Manager Submenu> 3 Serial> 21 Placed Machine ASCII Download. This file can then imported into Excel, Access, etc. When accessing this program, the operator should choose a disk printer from the printer selection menu. Since there are more than 132 characters on each line of the download, it will not be able to be printed to an actual printer.

M’etered Machines, N’on-Metered Machines, Or A’ll Machines
If the operator answers this question with M for metered machines, the download will check to see if the machine is on a contract, and that the Enter Meter field for the machine is set to Y for yes. If so, the machine will be included. If the machine has Enter Meter field set to N for no or if the machine is not on a valid contract, it will be skipped. If the operator answers this question with N for non-metered machines, the download will check to see if the machine is on a contract and that the Enter Meter field for the machine is set to N for no. If so, the machine will be included on the report. If the machine has Enter Meter field set to Y for yes, it will be skipped. The download will not skip the machine if it is not on a contract. If the operator answers this question with A for all machines, the download will not check the above criteria.
Include Machines On Custody To A Customer (Y/N)
Enter Y for yes if machines that are on custody to a customer should be downloaded. Enter N for no, if custody machines should not be included in the download.
Download Description From I’tem Or S’erial File
Enter I for Item if the Description field from the Item File should be used for the download. Enter S for Serial if the Description field from the Serial File should be used for the download.
Download Phone/Fax/Branch From C’ustomer Or S’erial File
Enter C for Customer if the Phone Number, Fax Number and Branch Number from the Customer File should be used for the download. Enter S for Serial if those fields from the Serial File should be used for the download.
Use I’tem Type Field Or A’ccessory Field To Determine Accessories
There is a Machine or Accessory field in the download program. The program needs to know how it should determine if a Serial Number is actually a Machine or an Accessory. Dealers can either set up an item as being an Accessory by setting the Accessory Y/N field in the Item File to a Y, or the item may have a certain Item Type (in the Item File) that signifies an accessory. Enter an A at this prompt to use the Accessory Y/N field. Enter an I at this prompt to use the Item Type field.
Enter Up To 10 Item Types For Accessories
This prompt is asked only if the “Use I’tem Type Field Or A’ccessory Field To Determine Accessories” is answered with I (Item Type Field). The program will check each item before it downloads it to the ASCII file. If the item has an Item Type (in the Item File) that is equal to one of the Item Types entered at this prompt, it is assumed to be an Accessory.
Information in ASCII File:
Note the file is Tab-Delimited. The file is sorted by Item Number and Serial Number. Only machines that are placed at a customer site will be included on the report. Machines placed on custody to a customer will also be included if the operator answers the “Include Machines On Custody To A Customer (Y/N)” with a Y for yes.
