Program Description
This program can be found on the Billing File Maintenance menu (BI-3-1-5). This program provides users with service technician/sales representative status (available/unavailable). The Technician Available (Y/N), Or S'ales Rep field is used for Service Call Entry and Technician Dispatching. If a technician is set as unavailable, service calls can not be assigned or reassigned to this person. This feature can be used when a technician is on vacation or otherwise unable to perform service calls for any reason. This can also be used to change the status of a sales representative so that service calls can not be assigned.
The Technician Available (Y/N), Or S'ales Rep field is also used by the Sales Rep/Service Technicians Report, which can be found on the Billing Reports File Maintenance Reports menu (4-4-2). This is a listing of all sales representatives and service technicians and the available/unavailable status for each.
Rev 13 Changes
A validation of branch number has been added in Revision 13. This is a new enhancement in Invoice Entry, Credit Memo Entry, Order Entry, and Service Invoicing that will default the branch number from the Sales Rep File (SLMD). This is controlled by field 42. Assign Default Branch From C'ustomer, Or S'ales Rep # 1 in Billing Control File Maintenance. If this field is set to S, the branch from the Sales Rep File will be posted to the invoice and it must be a number between 1 and 255. If an attempt is made to enter 0 or a number greater than 255, the following message will appear Branch Number Must Be Between 1 And 255. If this field is set to C for customer number, the branch number must be between 0 and 255. If an attempt is made to enter a number less than 0 or greater than 255, the message Branch Number Must Be Between 0 And 255 will display again.
