Program Description
This program is found on the Service Inquiries menu (SD-2-1). This inquiry is also called Service Histories or Service History Inquiry by Machine. It allows an operator to inquire about the service history of an individual machine by entering the correct item number and serial number or alpha searching for the item number or serial number. Inquiries can be viewed on screen or printed to a specified printer.
Rev 14 Changes
The program was changed so when the service history is printed, it will have page breaks and print headings at top of each page. The heading will consist of the system date, system time, company name, “Service History Inquiry By Machine” heading and the page number.
Rev 13 Changes
The following fields have been added or changed:
Enter Item No. Or E'nd
Enter Serial No.
At the item number prompt, there is the ability to perform an item number, item description, or item association search. The operator can also return at the item number prompt to get to the serial number prompt. At the serial number prompt, the operator can perform a serial number/machine ID number search. This is similar to the Service Call Entry program, in which the first part of the serial number can be entered, followed by an asterisk (*) or an asterisk (*) can be followed by the last part of the serial number (a wild card search). If a specific item number is entered, the exact serial number must be entered.
At the Display More Machine History (Y/N) prompt, enter Y. The following machine information will be displayed:
Contact Name
Program changes were made to the Service History Inquiry screen to print Contact Name. It displays under the Technician Number. It also prints out on the report.
Machine ID
The Machine ID will now be displayed
on the inquiry and also on the printout.
Display P’revious or E’nd
Prior to Revision 13 on the last screen, there was just the option to print out a hard copy. The option is now given to enter P to display the previous screen, N for the next screen, or E to end out of the program and return to the Service Inquiries menu.
Changes were made to add travel time and response time for each service call. Travel time is calculated by taking the time from dispatch until arrival. Response time is calculated by taking the call time from arrival time. The program will skip weekends, but will include holidays. When the call date is a different date than the arrival, the program will use a work day that consists of the open time and close time stored in Service Call Control File Maintenance.
Changes were also made to the calculation of mechanical time. It will be calculated in the same manner as travel time and response time. Mechanical time is the time from arrival until completion.
If the service call does not have the ticket entered, or it is a Machine Tracking call (with the call type CU), the travel and response time will not display. These three times will display next to each other on the same line and are in the format of HH:MM. See the sample below:
