Tele-Sales Control File Maintenance (TSFM011)

Program Description

This program can be found on the Tele-Sales File Maintenance menu (TS-3-11). The Tele-Sales Control File stores groups of records that control or define the operating parameters of the Tele-Sales module. These records are generally defined at the time of installation and rarely changed after that point.  However, you can easily configure these fields to set certain defaults and prompts in the system.

The following global fields have been added:

Allow Entry Of Activity With Date Of Next Contact Equal To 0 (Y/N)

If this field is set to Y, 0 (zero) can be entered at the Date Of Next Contact in Activity Entry. When this happens, a new field in the Tele-Sales Activity file (TMACT.DT) Customer Notes will be set to Y. This will not affect the date of next contact in the Tele-Sales Prospect File (TSPROS.DT).

Default For Do You Wish To Print A Letter Prompt In Activity Entry (Y,N Or Blank For No Default)

This new field determines the default for the Do You Wish To Print A Letter prompt in Activity Entry. If this field is set to Y, the program will default the prompt to Y. If this field is set to N, the program will default to N. If left blank, the program will not have a default for the prompt, and the user must enter Y or N.

Default For Changing Prospect Prompt In Activity Entry (Y,N, Or Blank For No Default)

This new field determines the default for the Do You Wish To Change To Prospect Record prompt in Activity Entry. If this field is set to Y, the program will default the prompt to Y. If this field is set to N, the program will default to N. If left blank, the program will not have a default for the prompt, and the user must enter Y or N.

Display Contact Count In Activity Entry (Y/N)

When accessing Activity Entry using the index, to have a counter display the number of keys in the index, set this to Y. To not have the counter display, set this to N. If set to Y, there may be a delay before the first prospect comes up. The program counts the number of prospects in the index. If this is delay is too long, deactivate this feature. The following screen display shows that the key count is 9 in the Count: field:

A global feature was also added to view prospects in the index in Activity Entry. Enter N for no at the first prompt on the first screen, enter Y at the Continue (Y/N) prompt, then enter S for Summary. The results are shown below:
