Using the Help System

Bookmarks

 

These are subtopics within help topics because they provide a way to navigate within the content of a single topic page. These links are similar to hyperlinks in that they are usually indicated by a different color. They are located at the top of a page and usually separated with dividers (i.e. Billing | Contracts | Collections).

 

Email Links

 

These are interactive hyperlinks that allow you to send email to a particular recipient. When you click on the link (username@lacrosse-net.com) in the Help system, an email form for the address is displayed.

 

Hypertext Links

 

In this module, you will find hypertext links that allow you to jump from one page to another. These links are usually indicated by a different color (i.e. hypertext, hypertext).

 

Image Maps

 

This is a type of image in which different locations in the picture are linked to destination hotspots. An image map can be found on the Master Menu page.

 

Internet Links

 

These are interactive hyperlinks that allow you to access a particular web site. When you click on the link (www.lacrossesoftware.com) in the Help system, the web site is displayed within the help browser. You can also access web sites by clicking on or . Other images within the Help system are also linked to the internet.

 

 

Tool Bar

 

 

You can navigate throughout the help system by clicking Back or Forward. Clicking on Home at any time will bring you back to the Home Page. To hide the tri-pane (left) window, click on Hide. To restore the left window, click on Show. The Options button allows you to choose any selections on the tool bar. Click on LMS to access the La Crosse Management Systems web site. Click on LCI to access the La Crosse International web site.

 

Printing

 

When clicking on the Print button in the browser tool bar, the following dialogue appears:

 

  1. Click OK to print only the selected topic in the window.

  2. Click the second option to print the current page and all links associated with that topic, then click OK.

 

Videos

 

This help system contains several pages that play screen videos.

  1. In some cases, videos play automatically within the help browser when the page is accessed. To replay a video page, click on , then click on to access the page again. In other sections, you can play a video by clicking on a hypertext link, movie projector , film reel, or thumbnail .

  2. You can also play videos by clicking on an image or title, which will be identified throughout the help system.
